Do you have parts of toys laying around, getting stepped on? Don't throw them away, save them in a box and when you have enough, you can make a toy wreath. It's fun to look at especially when the kids remember that toy or that one! Brings back lots of memories too! 
All you need is a wire wreath to attach the toys to. Use either floral wire or hot glue. As you can see, sometimes the hot glue doesn't keep them on, but wire will, just make sure it's well hidden. When you're done putting them on, paint it all gold (or silver) and attach a bow. Don't forget to put some wire on the back to hang it with.
I've had mine for lot's of years and when you get it out from storage, you might need to touch it up - pieces move or fall off, so don't throw away that can of spray paint! I'm getting ready to add a few more to my ensemble!
Another quick gift idea or decorating idea is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer made out of a palm frond. I don't know what time of year they usually trim those back, but if you know someone who does tree trimming, give them a call and have them save you some. Or if you have a neighbor who has those kinds of trees and has them trimmed, call them up and have them save you some! Or keep your eyes open while you're driving, you might see them somewhere! It's really easy. The only things you need are wiggly eyes, blue, white and black felt for the eyes, a big red ball for the nose and a couple of small poinsettia's or Christmas flowers and some ribbon for a bow and wire to hang it on the wall with. About half way up, just above the bow and flowers, make a small hole with a large needle to thread a piece of wire through, doing the same on the other side - simple and easy! I still have the original one that my sister-in-law, Vonetta, made me years ago. I made this one for one of my daughters who doesn't have room to store it!
